Nature vs Nurture
Is your behaviour more influenced by genetics or environmental influences. Is personality the result of traits you inherited or is it shaped by your life experiences. Nature vs Nurture debate = oldest debate in psychology.
How do children learn:
- imitation
- reward
- punishment
- association e.g. bell and lunchtime
Vicarious reinforcement: seeing another person being reinforced for a particular behaviour and therefore being more likely to produce the behaviour yourself e.g. avoiding hot water after seeing somebody else burned by it.
